Catching up!

So life's kinda been speeding by huh!  In fact Christmas is only 3 months away (a fact that i was blissfully unaware of 'til i saw Christmas trees being unpacked at The Warehouse).  Hard to believe that this Christmas we'll be a complete family of 4!!

Anywho, i thought i should catch everyone up on what's happening in my neck of the woods, then realized what a short post that would be.  So now i'm just going to blether a wee bit about random things :)

Starting with.... The AMAZING job Hubby's done redesigning my blog for me!!  When i asked him for a hand he probably should've run a mile the other way, but instead he's spent his spare time creating my little space for me, and it's totally exceeded what i had in my mind!!  I gave him some instructions (changed my mind at least 50 times) and off he went making my blog totally Me!!
Isn't it Awesome!!?? (Why yes, it is thank you!)

Did i mention that he's been dividing his time between that and making me bedside tables to match the headboard he made us?? (I'l have pics as soon as they're finished!)  And he finished one of our toy boxes for Lachy's room!! Yup, He's pretty freakin' Amazing!

The Toy box!!

He's also been doing this while iv been off work with a frozen pelvis, moping round the house like a witch without her broomstick, grizzling more than our toddler. (He knows that Maltesers fix Everything!)  Yup, 'Awesome wife' award goes to....not me.  So really this post should be titled Hubby of the year....

Om-nom-nom-nom!!

Anywho, here's some completely random pics of my kid just hanging out and being Cute!!

Not a big fan of the slide, but the pit was fun!

'Just hanging out with my truck, being a boy..'

The aftermath of a smoothie in the garden

Yay!! A ball pit!!

Just LOVE his expression!! My kid Rocks!!

DIY Hair Removal!!

A friend emailed this to me and i absolutely Had to share it with the rest of the world!! Enjoy!!

Hair Removal....
This is funny. (I don't have a clue as to who wrote this, but....WHAT A
HOOT!) All hair removal methods have tricked women with their promises of
easy, painless removal The Epilady, scissors, razors, Nair and now...the
wax.
Read on.........
My night began as any other normal weeknight. Come home, fix dinner, play
with the kids. I then had the thought that would ring painfully in my mind
for the next few hours: "Maybe I should pull the waxing kit out of the
medicine cabinet."
So I headed to the site of my demise: the bathroom. It was one of those
"cold wax" kits. No melting a clump of hot wax, you just rub the strips
together in your hand, they get warm and you peel them apart and press them
to your leg (or wherever else) and you pull the hair right off.
No muss, no fuss. How hard can it be? I mean, I'm not a genius, but I am
mechanically inclined enough to figure this out. (YA THINK!?!)
So I pull one of the thin strips out. Its two strips facing each other
stuck together. Instead of rubbing them together, my genius kicks in so I
get out the hair dryer and heat it to 1000 degrees. ("Cold wax,"
yeah....right!) I lay the strip across my thigh. Hold the skin around it
tight and pull. It works!
OK, so it wasn't the best feeling, but it wasn't too bad. I can do this!
Hair removal no longer eludes me! I am She-rah, fighter of all wayward body
hair and maker of smooth skin extraordinaire.
With my next wax strip I move north. After checking on the kids, I sneak
back into the bathroom, for the ultimate hair fighting championship.
I drop my panties and place one foot on the toilet.
Using the same procedure , I apply the wax strip across the right side of my
bikini line, covering the right half of my hoo-ha and stretching down to
the inside of my butt cheek (it was a long strip)
I inhale deeply and brace myself....RRRRRRIIIIPPP!!!!
I'm blind!!! Blinded from pain!!!!....
OH MY GAWD!!!!!!!!!
Vision returning, I notice that I've only managed to pull off half the
strip.. CRAP! Another deep breath and RIPP! Everything is spinning and
spotted. I think I may pass out...must stay conscious...must stay
conscious. Do I hear crashing drums??? Breathe,
breathe..................OK, back to normal.
I want to see my trophy - a wax covered strip, the one that has caused me
so much pain, with my hairy pelt sticking to it. I want to revel in the glory
that is my triumph over body hair.
I hold up the strip!
There's no hair on it.
Where is the hair???
WHERE IS THE WAX???
Slowly I ease my head down, foot still perched on the toilet. I see the
hair. The hair that should be on the strip...it's not! I touch. I am
touching wax.
I run my fingers over the most sensitive part of my body, which is now
covered in cold wax and matted hair. Then I make the next BIG
mistake...remember my foot is still propped upon the toilet? I know I need
to do something. So I put my foot down.
Sealed shut! My butt is sealed shut. Sealed shut!
I penguin walk around the bathroom trying to figure out what to do and
think to myself "Please don't let me get the urge to poop. My head may pop
off!" What can I do to melt the wax?
Hot water!! Hot water melts wax!! I'll run the hottest water I can stand
into the bathtub, get in, immerse the wax-covered bits and the wax should
melt and I can gently wipe it off, right???
*WRONG!!!!!!!*
I get in the tub - The water is slightly hotter than that used to torture
prisoners of war or sterilize surgical equipment - I sit. Now, the only
thing worse than having your nether regions glued together, is having them
glued together and then glued to the bottom of the tub...in scalding hot
water.. Which, by the way, doesn't melt cold wax.
So, now I'm stuck to the bottom of the tub as though I had cemented myself
to the porcelain!! God bless the man who had convinced me a few months ago
to have a phone put in the bathroom!!!!! I call my friend, thinking surely
she has waxed before and has some secret of how to get me undone. It's a
very good conversation starter "So, my butt and hoo-ha are glued together
to the bottom of the tub!"
There is a slight pause. She doesn't know any secret tricks for removal but
she does try to hide her laughter from me. She wants to know exactly where
the wax is located, "Are we talking cheeks or hole or hoo-ha?"
She's laughing out loud by now...I can hear her. I give her the rundown and
she suggests I call the number on the side of the box.
YEAH!!!!! Right!!
I should be the joke of someone else's night. While we go through various
solutions. I resort to trying to scrape the wax off with a razor . Nothing
feels better than to have your girlie goodies covered in hot wax, glued
shut, stuck to the tub in super hot water and then dry-shaving the sticky
wax off!!
By now the brain is not working, dignity has taken a major hike and I'm
pretty sure I'm going to need Post-Traumatic Stress counseling for this
event..
My friend is still talking with me when I finally see my saving
grace.....the lotion they give you to remove the excess wax.
What do I really have to lose at this point? I rub some on and OH MY
GOD!!!!!!!
The scream probably woke the kids and scared the dickens out of my friend.
It's sooo painful, but I really don't care.
"IT WORKS!!
It works !!" I get a hearty congratulation from my friend and she hangs up.
I successfully remove the remainder of the wax and then notice to my grief
and despair....
THE HAIR IS STILL THERE.......ALL OF IT!
So I recklessly shave it off. Heck, I'm numb by now. Nothing hurts.
I could have amputated my own leg at this point.
Next week I'm going to try hair color......

I Def' wont be trying this one at home!!

Pinterest....Nailed it....My way!

In case you all thought my Pinterest addiction had subsided, i thought i should reassure you good folk that it hasn't!  Iv been slowly stockpiling crafts (or amassing like an avalanche of epic proportions...you know, whatever you want to call it!) that i want to make/try, and have even been making the odd Pin to cross off the ole 40 before 40!

Today, stuck at home sick with an even sicker toddler i figured hey, let's show the world how crafty i think i am!!  So here's my versions of a few Pinterest crafts that didn't fail epically!!
(I did mention that they were my versions right??)

First up is '52 Reasons'

source

My Version

Made for Hubby's birthday!  I love the way it turned out, even though it took a lot more effort than i anticipated! (They look so damn easy on Pinterest!)

 Next up 'The dog box'

Source

My Version

Totally made the cushion too!lol!  It's a simplified copy, and i didn't make a name plate for it, but she still liked it! (And dont worry bout me cutting bits of wood, Hubby does that bit for me!)

'The Menu Board' was next

Source

My Version

Since i've already done a post on this i'm just repeating myself really, but i'm still loving the Menu board!! So long as we're being good it's doing wonders for our budget (and health too i s'pose!)  Please note i had a few different inspirations for my menu board, this was just the first one i ever found!

Then there was my fav' 'The Drawers'

Source

My Version

Please note, i Did Not make the drawers, i simply (bahahaha, simply, pffft!) remodeled them!!  And i must say, i'm jolly pleased with the outcome!!  So is Lachy! (Especially with the colorful drawer knobs!)  I know this is quite different, but it was more the named drawers that i liked, and i can't stand the thought of Lachy and chalkboards just yet (duck bumps!!)

And lastly (for now) 'The Plane Mobile'

Source

My Version

Did i mention that we're on an excessively tight budget at the mo'? (Or always) Who knew toy planes could cost so much!  So i know, it looks nothing like the Pinterest version, but it's still a mobile with planes on it (Thank goodness for the $2 shop) and Lachy just thinks it's the Best thing Ever!!

So that's my lot for now, hopefully next month i can regale you all with more tales of craftiness (or close to) from my 'Nailed it' section!!

Spring!!!

It's Spring!!!!
And while that usually means rain, rain and more rain here, the first few days have been Beautiful!!  (As i type this post the rain is torrential and the temp is chilled)

So me and Monkey got out and about in our new back yard (More on that in another post!) and enjoyed the sun on our faces and the grass under our feet!  This is a major photo dump i know, but it's not my fault my kids so damn cute! (Biased much!)

This is how we started!  Just working pottering in the garden, then we decided it was warm enough to shed the sweatshirts and hunt down an ice block!  A bit of plane spotting was taken up too! Monkey LOVES planes!!

Lachy decided his ice block tasted better if he dunked it in the pot plant first (kinda like the Oreo ad...'first you dunk it...'), I didn't try it myself but he seemed to enjoy it...Then it fell off the stick and he just didn't know what to do!

Then of course we had to remove the ice block/dirt stained shirt and shoes.....then Monkey-bum did a runner when i tried to change his nappy!  At this point i just thought oh well, and so monkey had a nuddy run! (Yes he takes his wee shovel with him everywhere)

Raiding my plants that i was s'posed to transplant (another day for sure!)!  He managed to get some dirt, some lettuce, a snail shell and a bug that he lunged over the lettuce to steal off the broccoli! (Side note: He's not going toilet in that first pic, it just looks that way!)

I was a bit worried when monkey discovered the hose that he would feel the cold water and run a mile, but instead he splashed, looked a bit shocked, and then just started to laugh like it was the best thing ever!  I wished for a split second that i had a paddling pool then remembered his old baby bath....Success!!!

Such a wee water baby!! (on his own terms of course!)  I think he would've stayed in there playing for hours (or at least 1 hour) but the breeze started to pick up quite a bit and he started to get some major duck-bumps! Plus he was eating the hose and trying to drink out of it so i figured it was snack time anyway!

Isn't it so quick and easy drying your kids off in the sun!!?!! And i got to dress him in shorts and t shirt for the first time in a while!  Yay for warmer weather!!  So monkey stole my phone (as you can see he had some serious business calls to make) then started to eat his trampoline, so we did the move in-doors for food and a late afternoon nap!!

Such an awesome, relaxing day!!  Makes me long for the summer until i remember i'll also have a new baby at that point! (Scary thought much!!)
Anyway, i'm off to try and figure out how to schedule posts to publish at set times! (So many posts going unpublished cause i write them and then forget to publish them until months later when they're irrelevant!)  If anyone has any tips on how to do this please let me know!!

Hope everyone's enjoying the change of seasons!!
